Creamy Haloumi Sandwich

This creamy haloumi sandwich is absolute sandwich goals! The perfect combination of haloumi and avocado, this healthy sandwich is one you'll want to enjoy regularly.

It’s super popular for good reason, but don’t take my word for it. Here's the recipe so you can try it yourself:

Creamy Haloumi Sandwich⁠

Vegetarian | Gluten Free Option | Vegan Option
Serves 1⁠


Ingredients⁠:

  • 50g haloumi cheese⁠

  • 2 slices wholemeal sourdough bread⁠

  • 2 tbsp hummus⁠

  • 1/4 avocado⁠

  • 1/2 cup rocket

  • salt and pepper, to taste⁠⁠


Method⁠:

  1. Add the haloumi to a frying pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden.⁠

  2. In the meantime, lay the bread out on a plate and spread the hummus over one slice.⁠

  3. Mash the avocado and spread it over the other slice of bread.⁠

  4. When the haloumi is cooked, add it to one of the slices and top it with the rocket.⁠

  5. Season with salt and pepper and close the sandwich.⁠

To make this one vegan, simply replace the haloumi with a portabello mushroom. I recommend cooking it with some garlic for extra flavour.

For a gluten free sandwich, simply switch the wholemeal sourdough to a good quality gluten free bread.
