Matcha Latte

Say hello to a simple matcha latte recipe that gives you all the benefits of matcha, along with the great taste of the accompanying ingredients.

Let's talk matcha benefits:

🌿 Highest natural source of L-theanine, which is an amino acid that is known to help with relaxation, decreasing stress and anxiety and increasing focus. In general, the amino acid content of matcha is also higher than other teas.
💚 Much higher in EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) than other teas, making it a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory effects.
🍃 As the vibrant green colour suggests, it's high in chlorophyll.
🍀 Contains nutrients such as vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium.
🌱 It has thermogenic properties and may help to boost your metabolism.
Not to mention it's delicious!

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 1/2 tsp tremella mushroom powder, optional

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla powder, or extract

Method:*

1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan over low-medium heat and stir to combine.

2. Cook for 5 minutes until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

*If you have a milk frother, just add everything in and switch it on - the rest is done for you.

It's super simple, but quite delicious. If you find the taste of matcha a bit too bitter you can also stir through a small amount of raw honey or maple syrup at the end.
